Annual Conference – Missionary Psalms

24 January @ 10:00 am - 3:30 pm

The annual conference will once again be a whole family day out. This time with Christopher Ash speaking to us from the Psalms.

Christopher’s two addresses and sermon will focus on  ‘Missionary Psalms,’ looking at the surprising, exciting, even breathtaking way in which the Psalms speak beyond their old covenant context and overflow into a gospel for the whole world.

Psalm 22 Mission and the Cross of Christ.
We know Psalm 22 especially because of how it begins (My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?). But the ending is astonishing. It shows us how the gospel of the cross is the engine of worldwide mission.

Psalm 87 Mission and Unlikely People
In this beautiful and surprising psalm we learn how the most unlikely people are brought in to the people of God. The psalm encourages us to
press on with joyful confidence in mission.

Psalm 45 Mission and the Beauty of Jesus
In this unique psalm we see how the beauty of Jesus our bridegroom brings blessing and life all round the world and all through time.

Christopher Ash is Writer in Residence at Tyndale House, Cambridge, having been Director of the Cornhill Training Course from 2004-2015, and a pastor and church planter before that. He has written a number of books including on the bible books of Job, Ruth, Esther, and Romans, and, most recently, a four-volume Christ-centred Psalms Commentary (Crossway, 2024). Christopher is married to Carolyn. They live in Cambridge and belong to Cambridge Presbyterian Church. God has given them three sons, a daughter, and ten grandchildren.
