“Will you not revive us again that your people may rejoice in you? (Psalm 85:6)
The aim of our third-year course is to encourage us to dig more deeply into the gospel of grace that we might know and experience more of its transforming power in our lives and in our churches, and further afield. One aspect of that is a study of revival.
John Stevens (FIEC) writes “we have never experienced revival in the church and have been neglectful of the history of revival. We have even been suspicious of the subject because all too often we have encountered the twin failings of spurious revivalism or an obsession with revival that despairs of the value of the ordinary regular ministry of the church”. This is an opportunity to explore biblical teaching about revival and study some of the occurrences of revival in church history with the aim of inspiring in us a renewed hunger for a true, powerful gospel-centred work of God in our nation.
This day is free for training course students or £5 for anyone else.
